The National Forest Foundation
The National Forest Foundation works on behalf of the American public to inspire personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests. By directly engaging Americans and leveraging private and public funding, the NFF leads forest conservation efforts and promotes responsible recreation. Each year the NFF restores fish and wildlife habitat, facilitates common ground, plants trees in areas affected by fires, insects and disease and improves recreational opportunities. The NFF believes our National Forests and all they offer are an American treasure and are vital to the health of our communities.

FOR OUR FORESTS CAMPAIGN
Our National Forests face incredible challenges. On Earth Day 2018, the NFF launched a campaign to plant 50 million trees in National Forests across the U.S. Through their partnership with the US Forest Service, the NFF plants native trees on National Forests across the U.S., using agency-backed methods to plant the right tree, in the right place, at the right time. Planting improves wildlife habitat, carbon storage, and soil, air, and water quality.

In 2021, the NFF planted 7.3+ million trees on 40 National Forests. Wildfires now make up 80% of the reforestation need on National Forests, and more than half of the projects in 2021 supported post-fire recovery.
